Great model, very well done! Amazing details! Coincidently, I'm working on a scratch-built food trailer for my car show diorama. I hope it comes out half as good as this!

Hi Sam!

Thanks for the comments. May-we see a sneak peak of the trailer? I.m curious...

I'm just getting started on the model. Here is the chassis, mocked up with fenders from the Revell midget racer trailer. The model will have opening serving windows on both sides and the rear. I plan to use aluminum flashing to replicate  stainless steel counters, etc. on the inside. In scale it is 12' long by 7' wide. Entry door on right side. Propane tanks on the tongue, menu signs on the sides. I'm thinking painting the model white with some red and blue trim. Here's the chassis mockup.

Hi Sam!

Thanks for the pic. Promising start. I can already smell the delicious fumes (not talking about the glue, but the food, of course!)

On my pizza-truck, I used styrene stock to make the cabinets/counters, and finished them with some Krylon "chrome spray" from Micahel's, just for fun... and it turned out to have a "legit" sst patina.

But of course, NOTHING can beat the real thing. So, flashing should be great!

Keep on!

Right side sitting on the chassis. Serving window is hinged. Kind of a sloppy fit, but it will be displayed in the open position.

Wow! It truly looks the part. I can smell the hot-dogs and fries...

That is way cool! Very creative. Although I’m not of Chip Foose shows but prefer Iron Resurrection a whole lot better.

Thank you Thomas!

I wanted to do something diffrent with the elder Foose creation, because so many great variations of the box stock kit have been seen.

This "outside the box" built seemed feasible, so I got at it...

So very cool! I always enjoy seeing different subject matter.

Thank you Mark!

That is why I LOVE kit bashing... It opens all sorts of new possibilities.

Now: I have about 125 unbuilt kits in my stash. I'm not good at maths, but I figure it makes for about 150,000 possible variations? Not certain I'll live long enough to explore most of them!

Hi Cliff!

Thank you. I have no talent to paint figures in a way that would satisfy me... so, I skipped. Next time maybe?

Btw.... do you deliver to upstate NY?  LOLOL!

Hi Thomas!

I might... if the border was not closed because of Covid. But I will try to attend Classic Plastic next year, if my schedule allows...

Hi Claude,

The food truck looks marvelous! I sit in front of the computer drooling along the thread and longing for a pizza. I can even smell it. And I can hear the rustling of the autumn leaves in the wind. Really neat. Take care, Juergen

Hi Juergen!

Who said that there is no poetry in model building? You just demonstrated the contrary. Thanks!
