alan barton Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 A truly magnificent build. While I have no interest in Jeeps or 4WD in general, the beautifully detailed techniques you have explained to all of us can only help improve our modelling skills. The realism you have achieved is fantastic! Cheers Alan

The realism you have achieved is fantastic! Cheers Alan Thanks Alan. My skills are nowhere near the upper levels displayed by some of the folks on this forum. I am however having fun trying to improve them a bit with each build. And I like to pass along any tricks or ideas I stumble upon along the way. 4 hours ago, slusher said: Do you have a color in mind for your Willys? Yes, it is going to be Tamiya TS-11 maroon, which is fairly close to what my 1:1 is. 3 hours ago, John Pol said: Wow amazing so far Thanks John.
Zippi Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 I like both Jeeps. Saw this one at a car show last weekend. Had a nice BB in the business end. It looked like a new build.
NOBLNG Posted June 13, 2021 Author Posted June 13, 2021 (edited) Well it’s been slow going again on this one. I have a couple other ones I’ve been working on also. I did manage to get a couple coats of paint on it. Still needs more work, but camping season is here now, so it may be a while before I get back to it. Edited January 23, 2023 by NOBLNG 2
NOBLNG Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) Well I’ve been back on this one lately. There’s not a lot left to do. I got the interior finished and the floor pan and firewall are now glued in place. I finished up the front end as well with some scratch built headlights and turn signals. The radiator and fan are permanently mounted now also. I scratch built disc brakes for it from some thin aluminum and styrene bits. I wasn’t going to wire the engine, but after I did the battery and winch cables I figured it needed some plug wires at least. With the GM 14 bolt rear in there I needed some 8 lug rims, so I made some resin copies of the ones from the Revell GMC plow truck and the tires are from Scenes Unlimited. Now I need to get the windows in it and scratch build some side mirrors. The vent window divider is part of a Bobby pin.? Edited January 23, 2023 by NOBLNG 1
Mattilacken Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Coming along nicely! Beautiful work as always!
NOBLNG Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 (edited) The cab is now mounted permanent and I managed to get the glass in and the molding on without smudging too badly. The glass is .010” clear sheet from K&S. the rubber molding is a resin piece that I cast. I scratch built some side mirrors that are somewhat close to the ones I built for my 1:1. They will get mounted permanently as a last step. That’s about it for fabrication.? I just have to mount the box and cover and the bumpers. Edited November 5, 2021 by NOBLNG
chris chabre Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) looks awesome Greg! I may have missed it but where did you get the tires from? Edited November 7, 2021 by chris chabre

Mattilacken Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Nice progress! A really good representation of your 1:1
NOBLNG Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 (edited) Well I forgot a few items like a battery hold down, radiator braces, wipers and washer nozzles. I scratch built some wipers by squashing some .020” wire in my vise and inserting it into a piece of 1/16” square styrene and filing it to shape. The blades are shaped from a small chunk of .040” sheet. On my 1:1, the wipers were missing when I bought it, so I fabbed up a set from Mazda truck parts. That is why they are parked upright at the center of the windshield instead of flat. Anyways, I am calling this one done.
