I picked up this old Johan 63 Plymouth convertible a few years ago at a swap meet, for some reason someone grafted different front and rear fenders on the pass side and did a pretty poor job at doing so. I cleaned up that and have been also wanting to use a Revell miss deal Studebaker chassis for a project. Since the body was pretty much toast I will see if I can use it. I started moving the rear wheel openings forward and removed all the trim, the rear fenders are just roughed in right now. For the roof I might use a lindberg color me gone since I have a good stock pile of those, I know not accurate but should look cool. Oh the windshield frame on the johan body was also toast. I think it could be a cool funky homemade style drag car. Also my goal is to not buy anything else for this, the only new kit will be the miss deal kit I already had. The lindberg kit is parts as well I will use.

I'd leave the roof off and make a roadster style awb.

I thought about this, it will be my last option if the roof graft does not go well.

Update. working nights allows me time to burn the midnight oil on Sunday nights guilt free as my Wife is sleeping for the night. :)

I had a lindberg Belvidere body in the ole purple pond that I decided to go with.

Made lots of progress, still needs some massaging but I'm happy with the result's thus far. Early on in the night the body broke apart. I think that made it easier going back together. ?

Small update, progress slows down during the week with work. :) :(

Blending the the body line with the roof and body. The passenger side is more off, I'm sure it is those grafted fenders that is fighting me.

Might use this chassis I modified years ago. I started reworking it as my prior work was very crude. Lindberg color me gone. Going to see how a Revell hemi dart dana sits in there.

Like I said minor update. Progress slows during the body work stage. Had to insert some evergreen plastic in the joint along the body, allowed me to better smooth the seam.

Ran across a AMT 69 roadrunner for $10.00 and decided to use that chassis for this. Already sectioned it down and still need to stretch the frame on the front.

Body work is moving along, love Tamyia primer for body work!!

I have never built so much as I did during that time period in my career. Looking good!

amazing save on that body, it looks good.

Thanks Scott, I need to stay focused on the finishing work and not lose the drive.

Got to get ready for work.

Shot some Tamiya primer yesterday to get a good feel for where I was at. Knew work was still needed but it is getting close. The chassis is coming along nice as well.

I'm very thankful for for MCM, everyone's builds are an inspiration.

Actual paint color is the next question, any ideas?
