Probably been discussed a few times ...

I currently have a couple of Badger 150 dual action airbrushes that I've used for years.  Actually, I think they are the only brand/type of airbrushes I've used over the last 35 or more years.   Anyway ... was considering giving myself a little Christmas present.  What are your recommendations for airbrushes?  Only caveats are dual-action and not crazy expensive.

I have only had the one setup that I have had for a few years, and like you it was a Christmas present to my self. The Air Brush ia an Iwata Eclipse model # ECL2001. I have an Air Compressor by Model Maker model CP101. Both have served me well and I would suggest that they would make a good setup to consider.

I wonder why you want to change?  Is there anything wrong with the ones you already own?  If they work well, why not splurge or some new model kit or some other tools for your workshop you don't already own? :D

I have been using Badger 200 for decades.  Few years back ao got a 150 for really good price (sale at Michaels), but I have yet to try it.  Since I pretty much use my airbrush as a miniature spray gun, dual action is not too important for me.  If I started to do weathering, then I'm sure I would reach for that 150.

I really like my "Creos PS-290".

Works really nicely for large areas like bodies because it includes a wide pattern "fan spray" nozzle.

Plus the "trigger" is a really nice feature.

I believe that I spent a little over $100.00 for the set.

+1 I love my PS290. I bought the Iwata handle to add to it for a pistol grip.

I have to agree with Peteski.  What is it that yoru Badger is or isn't doing that makes you want a new one?  I have 4 airbrushes and each does something different that makes them useful.  Larger and smaller tips to accommodate different types of paint or to have wider or narrower spray pattern,.  Different feeds to give me more paint capacity or easier cleaning.  Some designed to use lower pressure to get less over spray.  Fan pattern verses round pattern.

All things to consider or do you just want a shinny new toy for Christmas?  That too is a very valid reason to get a new one!?
