JordanFordF1 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 We all see model building guides recommend debonder if you use CA glue. Why is it important? Opps. Make sure you keep some handy and close.
Can-Con Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Ernst Stavros Blofeld had several debonders, none of them were effective.
Miatatom Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I simply can't understand some of you modelers. I've never done that. ?
peteski Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I tried couple brands long time ago, and they didn't really work. Also, some are acetone-based and can ruin kit's styrene parts. Maybe they are good for ungluing accidentally glued fingers?
Spex84 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I might have some debonder somewhere, but whenever I glue my fingers together (and yes, it does happen!) I can usually get 'em apart with very careful application of an X-acto blade. Needless to say, there are probably better ways to do it than my method ?
Straightliner59 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I don't think I've ever owned a bottle of debonder. If I stuck my fingers together (that usually only happens when first opening a bottle), I used acetone or an X-Acto knife, depending on the thickness of the skin, where the sticking occurred! ?
TarheelRick Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 One thing that works for me is finger nail polish remover, the good strong stuff not the PC kind. However I would not use it on a model, think it would probably cause some non-reparable issues
