Dirt Demon Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Another build on the bench I’ve been tinkering with. More photos coming...
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Hi Bill! Very impressive fabrication, bravo! I'm inspired by the mounting tabs you designed to hold the bodyshell in place. Clever! CT
Dirt Demon Posted December 25, 2020 Author Posted December 25, 2020 A little update..... the front clip is held on with mini disc magnets.
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Hi Bill! Very impressive progress, bravo! That coarse metalflake gunmetal reminds me of a HOK flake... Is-it? Just curious... CT
Dirt Demon Posted December 25, 2020 Author Posted December 25, 2020 Yes it is House of Kolor Galaxy Gray....with purple/ blue shift flake mixed with the first coats of clear. The orange is House of Kolor too. Ultra orange pearl
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Hi Bill! Thanks for the answer. HOK's are top products. I was familiar with the Galaxy Gray... but the bluish sparkles puzzled me. Now I know... Very nice! Happy holidays to you! CT PS: Where is Union Springs in NY? Hudson Valley, I guess?
misterNNL Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Very inspirational build of a bad to the bone bowtie ground pounder.
Steve H Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Hi Bill, what an awesome build! I love low, I love tubs, and one of my all time favourite cars is a ‘62 Impala. What a perfect combination. Very nicely done. Cheers, and Merry Christmas
AmericanMuscleFan Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 WOW, that's a real beast Bill! I love the color combo with that massive and powerful engine! Superb build in the making!
Ian McLaren Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Bill this is an excelĺent project, I really like what your doing. Well done!
gotnitro? Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 Off the charts Bill ! Killer paint work too Happy Holidays too
Tortuga Kustomz Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Awesome work, i like the idea on where to put the magnets, you can't see them there...
Dirt Demon Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 Update.... waiting on my decals.... mail is super slow.... but got the doors hinged and are removable..... everything fits good. And lines up.... super happy with how it’s turning out.
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hi! Very sharp, can't wait to see it with the decal work done. Will-you be using the kit's front & rear windows? How do you plan to set-them in place, in the case of the windshield more precisely? Just curious... CT
Dirt Demon Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 Yes I will be using the kit glass... the windshield fits perfectly and will not interfere with opening the doors. I’ll be using clear glue to hold them in place. I will make the door windows out of clear plastic sheet.
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hi Bill! I saw that the dogleg door post is part of the door now, and the whole body can be removed at once, so I was curious. Good idea. CT
Tortuga Kustomz Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Amazing work Bill, can't wait to see more
misterNNL Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 I like the fact that this project is being built without a visual overload of chromed everything bling. The use of dark metalizer on the induction system is a great choice. Great thread to follow.
Dirt Demon Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Well... decals finally got here.... applied them now ready for final coats of clear.... getting close now.
blackbeard Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 looks fantastic bill everything works great with the colors you chose
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Hi Bill! Great. When you say "decals", are those actual decals, or painting masks that you used to lay the flames? If decals, the match with the interior color is great" Bravo! CT
Jantrix Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Wow. Dynamite work. Can't wait to see her chromed and done.
