Thanks Andy. I have started to really enjoy doing the wood trim by hand instead of the kit decals. The dash looks a little different as I was trying to make it look like a car I saw in a magazine. The "grain" is going north and south on the car in the magazine instead of the east west that you would see in a pickup bed floor. On 12/30/2020 at 3:08 PM, TonyK said: Wow! Two cars that I wouldn't attempt to build myself but sure enjoy looking at the superb job you did. Thanks for sharing. Both of these are great kits and offer many possibilities. The '48 is a little fussy going together but it has to do with the close fit of the body as the manufacture has a very precise between the body and the front fenders.
David G. Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Excellent work on both entries but the Chevy is especially eye-catching. David G.
Phildaupho Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Only two but both very well done models. May we see many more in 2021.

Three went back into their boxes this year out of frustration but I hope to finish them and a few more this year.
TransAmMike Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Two very nice builds David, great looking black finish on that Olds.?
BeakDoc Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Quality over quantity, I say. The Chevy is a work of art.
charlie8575 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Those are both very nice. I really like that Chevy. The colors referenced for the interiors...were those used on the woodgrain portions, or in varying places in the interior? Charlie Larkin

I used Tamiya TS-14 Black and TS-13 Clear. I really like this kit and I think I have built a couple of others in different styles.

Tiger89 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 They both look fantastic, but imagine bashing your shin on the Chevy's exhaust extension time and time again.

For the "wood" trim I usually use Tamiya TS-68 for a base color. I'll dry brush other darker shades of brown and I like to add X-34 Metal Brown sometimes. Depending on how dark I want the overall look I'll use X-24 clear yellow or for a darker finish I use X-26 clear orange. This particular kit has built in side window molding for the inside. Unfortunately they are hard to see after assembly.

I fought that so and so exhaust pipe until I was afraid i would break it. It is what it is and you just need to be careful getting anything out of the trunk.
Tiger89 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Ha, ha, reminds me of a hitch in a receiver, something I've experienced.
