Amazing. As I have said before, I am constantly stunned at how "Our Friends Who Don't Live In America And Have Probably Never Laid Eyes On A 1:1" seem to always knock it out of the park with their builds. Thanks for sharing this, and don't be a stranger to the forum!

Super detailed! Are you sure you aren’t trying to fool us with pics from a real 1:1 car!! Your work is absolutely amazing!!!  Very nice!

Stumbled across this post while searching for Corvette kits and just thought it deserved to be brought back into view. I know it’s a very large scale kit but the execution and commitment to detail is deserving of a re-viewing.

Lars I only have one question… “Can we hear it run?!!” Saying any thing that hasn’t been said is truly an understatement! To quote Bob Ueker from the classic movie Major League “You Hit That One Deeeep Over the Wall in Right Field”!

Nicely done.  That kit is nothing but big and very toy like. You turned it into a beautiful rendition of the real car.  All the wiring, brackets, clips and things you added appear in scale and in correct positions,  The door jamb detail is awesome as is the interior detail.

Thanks for your nice words. After I finished the Corvette model I noticed that I had missed a couple of details. The white tire wall was corrected and the side rocker panels had the upper rounded strip surrounded by a black field.

The complete 66 page build diary is still available for free by sending a request to my email larsinger@telia.com.

I am currently working on a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR "Uhlenhaut Coupe" in 1/8 scale. Mostly metal parts. A terrible kit from LeGrand (Eligor/EHK), which so far (about half way) has taken about 750 hours with replacing, complementing, correcting and redoing faulty and incorrect parts and details. But that's the fun with modelling. It is car no. 10 in my 1/8 scale series. All documented. But it will be the last. I must do some music now. Listen to my songs on Spotify or whatever streaming service you prefer.

Stunning upgrading work Lars.

You say it is No 10 of your 1/8th scale builds.  What are the others you have built out of curiosity?

• Monogram: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray

• LeGrand/EHK: 1976 Volkswagen 1303 Cab

• Pocher: 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spider Gran Sport

• Heller: 1951 Citroën B15

• Agora/EHK: 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C

• IXO/PCT: 1964 Volvo Amazon 122S

• IXO/PCT: 1955 Mercedes-Benz W196R "Monoposto"

• Pocher: 1972 Lotus D/7

• IXO/PCT: 1955 Mercedes-Benz W198 300 SL "Gullwing"

Impressive collection Lars. Thanks for listing them.

You have put many hours into the Corvette that would have been a very challenging built. Those old Monogram 1/8th scale kits although very big still left lots of areas for serious modellers to work on extra detailing.

I see the Agora Shelby Cobra was amongst your builds. I saw one built up on their stand at IPMS UK Scale Modelworld Show last year and it looked very impressive. What are your impressions having built one.

I had to spend hundreds of hours researching and correcting faulty details. For example, they had mixed up oil lines and fuel lines and several was missing. Lots of engine details were missing such as the starter fuel pump, engine mounts etc. It ended up quite well though. I have made a step-by-step documentation over the build.

I popped for the download at the Modelversium (?) site, and the build is simply out of this world. Well past museum quality!

Very inspirational, it shows how much potential there is in the kit.
