I like the bottom effect more. The background may be a bit busy for it, but the resulting image is really cool. I agree that the paint jars add an interesting element to the top photo.

Yes, the bottom one is easier on the eyes with its flowing lines, however, if the color contrast was a bit less intense on the top one I’d like it a lot better.
