Geez, everytime I look at this thread and the engine install issue I get very nervous about starting the one I have.?

No kidding! I have a handful of these, with various ideas in mind. But now I'm hesitant.

I wonder if this is why these kits are half the cost of every other Tamiya kit on Ebay.

Thanks for all the comments, guys....... I might should note that the fitment issues may be different for everyone, depending on how the assembly of the engine cradle and all that is done.....

A little more progress, got the glass trimmed up that calls for it...... all the rest of the window trim is on the body.

The rest of the assembly of this calls for the body and pan to be painted. That's the next progress to be made, getting things ready for paint......

Hey, fellas..... Just wanted to show that I've got the body in primer. It hasn't been sanded yet, I want to wait until a day that I can actually paint before sanding, so everything is freshly clean...

I did decide to blend in the rear wing, and it doesn't really pose a problem as to paint coverage.........

Thanks!

Thanks, Mike! I think that when it comes time to fit this thing together, I'm going for a "one and done" deal.... There won't be much test fitting, I'll just wait until it's time for it to go together. Hopefully it won't bite me in the rump doing so.......

I get the "one and done" thing.  I tend to do the same?

I'm skipping around with my projects..... Finally got a chance to get the 959 in paint. This is two coats of color and two wet coats of clear over gray primer. It's as it came out of the can, still need to wet sand and buff back out.......

This will sit a few days before anything else is done to it......

Thanks!

Pretty high praise, Thank you sir........ :D

The primer was Rustoleum's 2X Ultra Cover in gray, and the paint and clear are DupliColor.......... Sorry I forgot to mention that.

Thank you, Carl...... The beauty of working with DupliColor, I was able to go ahead and polish it some today.......

Thats a really pretty shade of red. Which one did you use? Was is it their lacquer clear as well?

I stay away from Duplicolor paints because of the humidity of where i live. I also tend to get ghost lines with their stuff.

Thanks, James! It's Toreador Red, it's a Ford color in their Perfect Match line...... I also used Perfect Match clear. The humidity isn't too bad here yet, but during the summer it can cause problems with blushing...... I've heard of guys using a dehydrator to help with that, tho........

Carl, you might remember the Thunderbird that I built about a year ago..... This is the same paint (same can, even). It's very close to the Canyon Red that those T Birds came in.

I've started the trim around the windows, once that's done it could be time to join the chassis/interior to the body.......

Thanks! and feel free to comment.....
