Group of friends decided to do the 24hr build outside of the Facebook thing as we aren’t on Facebook, so I picked this snap kit figuring I could probably actually finish it. I got it done in time (actual time of about 11 hours), it’s not perfect, but I really like it, and the memory of the build will surely stay with me for quite some time. Hope you all like it.

That looks awesome!  I wish mine would look that good with six months to build it. ?

I did the 24hr build as well.  Not on Facebook either but built with quite a number of people on zoom. Check out my Ranchero in the pickup section.

That looks awesome. I really like the color combination. The greens on the cab & hood really work well together.

Nice paint finish. Good work, especially in that time frame.

Not on Facebook either, but for the 24 hour builds, I imagine the time would be broken into two or three basic blocks - sub-component assembly, paint, and then final assembly, allowing for the paint to cure in between. Starting say, in the evening, finishing by the next evening, allowing time for paint to dry overnight?

I suppose lacquer would be quicker, and familiarity with the kit and/or planning it out ahead of time would help speed up the process, too.

How did you plan/pace the build?

Thanks guys , it was a fun challenge.

my plan was to do a snap kit for the ease of it, and knew full well it wasn’t going to be much detail. I cut everything off the trees, cleaned all the parts, built the engine, then primed everything, after that was dry, I separated all the parts into ‘color groups’ then painted. I put the cab in my dehydrator so I could two tone it quicker. We ran from noon Saturday to noon Sunday, so I wanted everything ready to put together the next morning, cause I wasn’t staying up all night , lol. It went quick , and I ended up with a nice shelf model.

Excellent work...The paint choices looks good, together.... I remember the very first one of these I built, and it shocked me... I built it in less than 24 hours, using Duplicolor paint, and I had no idea what to expect of the kit.... These are GREAT kits, for their simplicity... The fits are pretty good, and they look great just out of the box....This and the KW are probably, arguably, the best truck kits out there.... Given the price and the fact that there is a pretty good engine included, you can't beat it....It's an excellent "slump buster", if you know what I mean, and you don't really care if you screw it up as much as you would if that were a $70 model....? That means lots of frame rails and cab extensions can be made without fear...? You've done an excellent job on this one, Man...

And I ain't on Facebook, either...?

Awesome job, and ONLY 24 hours!!!!  If I finish one in a week I feel I've done something special!!!!   Love the "Shades of Green" color combo....
