TonyK Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I enjoy watching this when it's on tv. As much that I'm amazed at the dogs talent I also appreciate the person coaching the dog has got to be in decent shape.

They sure love the game! Pictures are rare in our house, we usually have video to assess our mistakes and try to correct them. Diesel does not like it when I am not sure where we are suppose to be going! He has decided to jump on me when this happens. He loves to run and this slows things down . I do have a small brag if I may. A while ago, not sure how long ago, Diesel received his starters games title! I did not get any pics of him at that trial jurying his runs. Sugar is currently at our regional trial with Mrs. Nazz. I hope they do well. It may be Sugar's last as she is getting older. Jerry My impression is that dogs really enjoy these trials. They have such natural skills anyway and this helps then realize some of them. Sort of like play some sort of stick or ball sports for humans.

JollySipper Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 We lost a puppy tooth the other day......... Couldn't tell if it was the tooth, the whole tooth, or nothing but the tooth! 1
HomerS Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Meet Frank The wife wanted a dachshund and she made it clear I've picked the last four dogs so it was her turn. We were at our teenagers summer baseball game Sunday when a local pet store post two on their FB page. By the we left the game, one was already in the parking lot on his way to a new home and the other was at the register finalizing his paperwork. Fast forward to Wednesday and one of the dogs got returned because it appeared he is deaf. They wanted him to be adopted by someone who had experience with a deaf dog and knew hand signals. My Aussie that passed last year was fostered with a deaf dog so we know some of the signals. He clearly has some impairment but he can certainly hear some things. My parents had a BIchon and mom named him Jacques. I said he needs a strong German name....Wilhelm, Gerhardt, etc. But he has blue eyes so he could be Frank Sinatra. Frank it is! Any dog had to be a male as I have two female 'followers' (35pound pekanese/border collie and a 50 pound Aussie) so Mr five and a month old, six pounder may become the alpha dog. 2
Nazz Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 We went to a trial a couple of weeks ago and there was a wiener eating contest, needless to say Whiskey cheated! Jerry 1 1

Nazz Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 It saddens me to announce the passing of our Sugar Rae on Saturday. We will miss you sweet girl. This photo was taken Thursday after coming home from the vet. She was still struggling with coming out on the ananastasia. Jerry
Nazz Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 Here are some pics from one of the last trials we attended. I thought maybe something more upbeat than the last post I did. Jerry 2
johnyrotten Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Here's my two. Harley, beagle/pit mix, and Harper. Both are rescues, harley 8 years ago, and Harper's been with us 4 months. She weights around 85-90 pounds, and doesn't seem to think so. And harley's just "stunned". 1
espo Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Dogs are like five-year-olds trapped in a furry body and they just want to be part of your pack. 1
HomerS Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 (edited) Happy National Black Dog Day! Bear is a rescue, about 12 years old. She has the personality of the cute little white fluffy dog as everyone falls in love with her. I had never heard about the black dog syndrome (all black dogs are last to get adopted because people just thing they are unremarkable) before her. She was on a county shelter for over a week (11 years ago) and we already had two dogs so I resisted but folded faster than Superman on laundry day when I met her. The photo wasn't staged.....she just got done at the groomers and wife turned on the bun warmers in the seat. She has some tan but some of the coal black is turning gray....welcome to my world! Nazz Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 My wife and I think 3 is a great number. We lost Sugar a while back so we decided it was time to get another puppy . He will be joining our home in about a week. His new name is Bandit. Pics coming soon. It will be interesting to see how our other 2 react. I am very confident Whiskey will very welcoming as he loves puppies. Diesel... who knows as he is generally not a fan, but I am sure will warm to the little one in time as we have been though this before with our other dogs. Kodi was our first dog,he was black and wasn't sure Sugar should stay but after a while they were very close. Good luck Jeff! She is very cute! Happy black dog day !!!! Jerry
TonyK Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 My wife talks about a 3rd dog every once in awhile when she looks at the rescue pictures but then decides against it. I think it could be fun but my main concern is trying to walk 3 dogs. The 2 I have now are a handful on a walk so don't think it would work. Perhaps a separate walk would work like I used to do with our old Westie in her last months. But, it might never happen.
JollySipper Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Guys, my doggo has 'the' appointment coming up on Wednesday........... I hate to do it to the poor fella, but it's in his best interest, I guess. 2
espo Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Whenever we used to take our Lab to the vet the lady at the front desk always thought it was funny offering my wife a two for one special to fix our dog. He went to his grave intact.
