JJ Deuce Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 I picked this up at Hobby Lobby last year for $7 and change. I wasn't sure what to do with it until I came upon some leftover custom decals I had for the Revell '66 El Camino I built roughly 20 years ago for a gas station diorama that never came to fruition. So I decided to use it as a slump buster and build a companion parts chaser for the fictional Jeff's Texaco. I didn't spend much time on detail, as this was mostly an exercise in getting used to modeling with the aid of magnifying lenses (I only recently began wearing glasses). This was my first real use of the Molotow chrome pens, and I really like the effect. I will need to mask and use a more steady hand in the future. The chassis pan was warped, despite my best efforts with gentle pressure and a teakettle, so it sits a bit nose-high, but for a quick build, it looks nice next to it's big block brother.
Bills72sj Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Very nice. Sometimes a quick build helps get one's sense of accomplishment satisfied.

Yes, it's been awhile since I finished a project. Hoping to spend more time at the bench in 2021. 13 hours ago, michelle said: nice work Thanks!
RichCostello Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 It seems like this kit always sits a little high in the front to me.
TransAmMike Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Very cool JJ, bet that 65 runs good with the 2x4's ??
