Tamiya paint prefix?

Recommended Posts

PS is meant to be applied to the inside of a clear radio control car body.  It has to really bite into the clear polycarbonate material, so the paint itself will be much hotter than paints designed for use on styrene.  Using the PC paint on styrene will require a very good barrier between the two, and also a clearcoat.

As stated above the PS designation is for clear RC bodies. I looked around on the innerwebs and from what I can find, this paint will eat styrene. I bought a can by mistake and threw it in the trash (not worth the risk). My $.02 and worth both pennies... -RRR

Good to know, I did finally find the color I wanted in the TS and ordered it, I will be staying away from the PS....

A hobby store once told me that the ps paint can be used on models just it will be matte instead of shiny. They said since it goes on the inside of an rc body the plastic makes it look shiny.

I haven't tried it myself, but i wouldn't bother if there is a ts version. Its not worth the risk, to me at least
