There’s a fine line in there somewhere... my Jeep started out as a glue bomb some kit must’ve built. It was in my junk / parts box. So is it a resto or parts box build.. or both?

(I might do a whole post on the fine points of such words sometime.)

Restoration - Returned to its original state, using period parts. Rebuild - Old built ups, significantly changed, with parts from any sources. Parts Box Build - A new build, created from parts from varied sources. Howz dat?
thomascoffey1959@gmail.com Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 I'm pretty sure I've never restored a model to its original state,,,, say an Old AMT 59merc, with parts that were originally in the kit, to a box stock state. So I can honestly say I've never, and probably never will restore an old glue bomb. I guess it might be a restification ?

You saved it with the Lancer/Valiant/57 bird top mashup though. Snake has as many 65-66 Mustangs as you have Darts I think. Parts Box Restoration rebuilding a car that died/pissed us off and got dumped in parts box An extreme case of BOYD ???♂️? Edited March 16, 2021 by keyser

It has to give a builder more satisfaction and enjoyment to build a model out of the part or junk box then a brand new kit. Like Tom’s Jeep for instance..

I've only had one that I gave up on and it was just too far gone and too much missing.
junkyardjeff Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 About all my builds have parts from other kits.

thomascoffey1959@gmail.com Posted March 21, 2021 Author Posted March 21, 2021 Roger, That truck transformation is impressive . I have some old amt promo glue bombs that are beyond my ken, any interest ? 59 MRC, 59 dodge, I know I've got a couple more around here somewhere. Free to a good home.
