thomascoffey1959@gmail.com Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 MAN ! I love this thread. It's awesome.
misterNNL Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Family time should be priceless. Treasure every minute as you only have them for a short time.
Watertown Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 This build post is the smile of the day for me. Inspirational in more ways than you probably intended. Keep up the great work, both of you.

You're building way more than models here; there are serious memories being made for that little girl that will outlive you by decades. GOOD WORK, DAD! Now, the models are cool, too. I'm really liking the contrast on that 65/66 body, and your geometric graphics are very appealing. You have a definite style for sure. Sorry I can't offer any advice on the chrome vs. molotow, as I have yet to try the pen. Either can be a little delicate to handle. My gut says chrome foil and plenty of clear. It'll hold up well, and maintain the bright finish, where molotow and other paints like it tend to just turn silver when cleared, at least that has been my take-away from this forum. Can't wait to see this progress! This is among the best threads I have ever seen on this forum. I am going to show my 9 and 11 year old girls this whole thing in the hopes that we can follow in your footsteps. Thank you for sharing and I will look forward to seeing more of her work.
Tom Geiger Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 (edited) The time you spend with your daughter today will be remembered over her lifetime! Time well invested. My daughter and I built models when she was the age of your daughter. I suspect building a car took second place to spending time with dad! She’s in her 30s now and those cars are on the top shelf in my display case! Edited April 9, 2021 by Tom Geiger
Modelbuilder Mark Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Way to go, time well spent! SO great to see a parent enjoying/sharing their hobby with their child.
Repstock Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Great thread. My sons have no interest in the hobby.
Oldcarfan27 Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 This story is so sweet and heartwarming. I really love that you're spending that kind of quality time building models with her. These are the times she'll remember when she grows up! She may even take up the torch from you, keep encouraging her! Great job Dad!!! ???
Steve H Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Hi Micah, this is truly great stuff. The car, yes, but what a gift sharing this time and this wonderful hobby with your daughter. My daughter used to sit beside me at my hobby desk, she loved looking thru all the paints etc. So I set up a craft table for her right beside my desk. We spent many hours together at our desks creating, some of my favourite memories. We only built one car together, a snap together Hummer in bright pink. She loved it, but that was the end of her model car building. I built her a pink Prius about 7 years ago which she loves, it’s in the “under glass” section somewhere. Your paint work is beautiful, keep up the nice work, your daughters colour choices are perfect!! Cheers, Steve
David G. Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Beautiful job on the car! Also a wonderful story, they're never too young to bring them into car culture. The world needs more Dads like you! David G.
