cheyenne93 Posted May 19, 2021 Author Posted May 19, 2021 So I'm lookin for some input. Got the black done on the stocker. Now I can't decide. Chrome rims or green rims. Some input please!! and Thanks
afx Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Chrome rims look out of place particularly on a dirt track car IMHO.
Sledsel Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 I kinda like the green. The chrome would be good with a black-wash though
dwc43 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Most run the black wheels, but the green goes with the paint job.
alan barton Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Nice project so far, Joel. I am a big fan of dirt trackers and like using NASCAR kits as a basis - just this morning I scored an unopened AMT at a toy fair for $10 so i am very happy with that. As for the wheels, hands-down the green. As others have said, it would be extremely unusual to see a chromed wheel at the speedway, dirt track at least, and it loses that home grown, small town racer look. If the green isn't working for you, I would try out red, orange, yellow or white for a different look. Hey, it's only paint! Cheers Alan
cheyenne93 Posted May 27, 2021 Author Posted May 27, 2021 So after gettin some decals on it, realized the green wheels were the way to go. The sponsor decals are inkjet that I had left from an old build of a buddies 4 cylinder mustang that I built. I also helped him build the 1:1 car. I had help on this build as well. (grandson) gives me a lot of input ?. Waiting on some geofer racing hometown sponsors decals just to add a few more. As always thanks for looking. Will post again when completed.
slusher Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Beautiful and clean Monte Carlo. Looking forward to seeing it with the rest of the decals..
TransAmMike Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Very cool Joel, shame it's gonna get all beat up on the track? Cute little man there too!!
ksnow Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 That looks really nice. The green wheels look great. Looking forward to seeing it all stickered up.
swede70 Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Looks very good. The wheel color choice seems entirely appropriate, while the Hoosier sidewall markings also look the business. Thanks for sharing... Mike K./Swede70
cheyenne93 Posted June 1, 2021 Author Posted June 1, 2021 Thanks for all your input and comments guys. It's done so it now is in under glass.
