trapper
Hello everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried or heard of a type of wax pencil for picking and placing small photo etch parts? I would like to look into this but I'm not sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
NOBLNG
Something like this? I don’t have one, so I don’t know how well it works.http://www.hyperscale.com/2011/reviews/tools/pickandplacereviewbg_1.htm Edited April 20, 2021 by NOBLNG
Miatatom
Google museum glue. It's really more of a putty. I bought some of this and it works great. Get some long toothpicks and cut the tip off one end and put a small blob of this stuff on it. You can hold and place the tiniest parts. It's sticky enough to hold small parts but leaves no residue. I couldn't build without it.
peteski
I have a roll of 3M "adhesive only" tape. Basically it is a brown backing paper with a thin layer of adhesive (similar to what is used on regular clear Scotch tape). I take a bit of that adhesive and apply it to the end of a toothpick. Instant parts picker!
CabDriver
I’ve heard of people doing this before, but never tried it. Here’s one such example (with a layaway plan available if you don’t want to spring for the $3 upfront 🤪😂) http://www.hobbyworld-usa.com/Store/index.php?id_product=1161&controller=product

It works just fine. I use it mostly on PE for ships.
