Joe Handley Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Here’s the SnapFast Slammers “Street Fury” kit I bought a couple weeks back. It’s going to be nearly box stock other than the “Street Heat” Concord’s wheels and a filled in the blower hole with .060” Evergreen styrene sheet and Tamiya white filler though next time I’ll be using their .080” sheet instead and hopefully will need less filler that time. any suggestions on how to make that bumper and grill assembly actually too? Joe Handley Posted May 17, 2021 Author Posted May 17, 2021 Also forgot to post the starting pics as well??
Sledsel Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I am gonna see what you do with this. Was thinking of grabbing one but really do not like the rear with that reversed pan instead of a molded bumper. Any other mods planned?

This one is just getting the hole on the hood fixed, maybe home made exhaust tips, and possibly still different rolling stock, as the Street Heat 5 spokers aren’t really locked in on this for me, much like the 3 spokers off this aren’t locked in for that either. Have no idea on the color on this will be though, Dad was hinting at the copper with white side inserts like the ‘58 his parents bought back in ‘58. I know what I’m painting the Concord and that will be period correct Mopar, Chrysler just never offered it on most of their other offerings, so far as I know?
slusher Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 cool looking Plymouth Joe. Are you leaving it that color. Stands out.

dwc43 Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I did one of those some time ago. I did the pie crust slicks and went front down and rear up. lol 2
Mad Slammer Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I did one a long time ago... Shaved everything and sealed the hole for the blower... 2
Joe Handley Posted May 19, 2021 Author Posted May 19, 2021 Did more sanding on the Street Fury’s hood where I filled the blower hole and wet sanded the rest of the primer on the car. I will say this though, the Street Heat’s 5 spoke wheels on this car have grown on me, though I’m still thinking about a smaller diameter set on here too. 2
bisc63 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 The 5-spokes are nice looking on that car, but a little smaller wouldn't hurt it!

Joe Handley Posted May 23, 2021 Author Posted May 23, 2021 The Fury is in primer, have a little glazing work to do on the hood before it’s ready for color though. 1
Just Jim Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Very cool. It looks great in primer. I can only imagine how nice it will be with a proper paint job.
Joe Handley Posted November 20, 2022 Author Posted November 20, 2022 Pulled this one back out, decided to try a set of Pegasus Crossbars with narrow white stripes. These are a hair smaller than the box stock 3 spoke and the Concord’s 5 spoke wheels, but do fit the look better than the other wheels. I still need to do something for the hood, it has a bit of a dip in the hood where the engine hole is so I should have used more styrene in opening then sanded it down to fit the hood. I’m also debating about either removing the rib and either leaving the hood smooth or try to recreate it.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Nice work. Great kits for a relatively quick build.
Joe Handley Posted December 1, 2022 Author Posted December 1, 2022 I should have the hood smoothed out, just don’t have the weather to go out and prime it or the Concords right now.
Joe Handley Posted December 13, 2022 Author Posted December 13, 2022 Got some of the Pegasus 23” T’s over the weekend to try on a second current issue of the kit, plus found my 25 year old, out of the box build of an early issue Street Fury! Oh, and I gave a 3rd current issue sitting in Dad’s Caravan right now that I picked up from the raffle at the club meeting/Christmas party Saturday!
Joe Handley Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 (edited) Went and grabbed the latest Street Fury from the van tonight, stuck the Chrysler Atlantic style wheels and Goodyear Eagle GS-C tires from the ‘41 Plymouth kit I was hammering through last week. Gotta admit, I dig how these look on this too! I’m going to try and get the blower holes filled tonight too. Edited December 15, 2022 by Joe Handley 1
Joe Handley Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 Holes are filled, waiting at the cement to cure so I can start sanding them smooth.

Joe Handley Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 Got my 3 Street Fury’s ready for primer once the weather improves as well as have started digging into a Christine kit I bought some years back to make into a custom. Got all of the trim sanded off the passenger side by hand, think I’m going to just use my Dremel on the driver’s side when I get that started. And here’s the 3 chassis waiting to get their bodies back and the original build from the late 90’s looking over them with the Concords that are also waiting on weather for primer.
Joe Handley Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 Going to add the Christine kit I’ve started digging into as well, going to smooth the sides and tops of the fenders as well as blend the chrome at the top of the fins into those too. Not sure what to do for the engine, I’d like to find a way to swap a Gen III 5.7l Hemi and matching transmission into it, if there are any available.

Keep trying different looks your getting a fleet. Just have fun! 1
