MrObsessive Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Hmmm..............nice one Harry! That looks like a '55 Mercedes race car transporter...........Something about the inside windshield posts say real to me.......... But I could be wrong-------that's a tough one!
46 Marty Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Real or model? The answer FRIDAY! Harry thank you for the time you put in to doing these, I look forward to them every week. Rick Martin
george 53 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Harry, I must also thank you for junkin me out with RoM! The last time I was adicted to somethin was over 20 yrs ago, and spent 30 days in a rehab unit! I know you must derive some kinda sadistic pleasure outa knowin you got a hold on someones Phsyci...Phsyco.. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!! Anyways, it LOOKS real but knowin you,I'm gonna go with MODEL this time, caz it just might be a TERRIFIC photo of a 1/18th model.(like last week) The tires don't look like they're bearin any weight. BUT..... I could be wrong!
george 53 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 HARRY, HELP, I hit the WRONG button!!!! I think it's a MODEL!!!!
Zoom Zoom Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Ain't no way this is a 1/18 scale model. Looks as real as real can get.
george 53 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 (edited) Bob, if'n it was someone other than Harry, I might tend to agree, but you know as well as me, that ol' boy can do some AMAZIN things with pichures! Harry, I STILL think it's a model! Edited December 8, 2008 by george 53
Zoom Zoom Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Bob, if'n it was someone other than Harry, I might tend to agree, but you know as well as me, that ol' boy can do some AMAZIN things with pichures! Harry, I STILL think it's a model! He doesn't manipulate the subject, only the background...if there's any manipulation at all. I think he's most adept at manipulating the viewers to keep them guessing
Harry P. Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 I think he's most adept at manipulating the viewers to keep them guessing Or maybe I only want you to THINK that I'm manipulating you... in which case I am!!! It's like that episode of "Friends" where Joey and Phoebe didn't know that Monica and Rachel knew that they knew that they didn't know...
Guest promodmerc Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 The chrome is way to shiny to be a model. Also look at the headlights & turn signals. No plastic looks like that.
ABC Auto Industry Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 As weird as it is, it must be real. Then again, it's not as weird as the "What the?" Volkswagen Beetle.
ricky12 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I WILL GO WITH REAL . REAL WHAT I DONT KNOW . COME ON FRIDAY !!!!
Dave Wood Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Real or model? The answer FRIDAY! I'm gonna go with Real on this one Harry Dave
henry57 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Looks like a model, but there seems to be a parking lot reflecting in the bumper.
Joe Handley Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I honestly don't know, it could be an old pic of the real or a replica 1:1, but IIRC the 1/18 was made by a company that does some of the best diecasts out there.
kk916 Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Something tells me a few folks have seen this pic before........
Pete J. Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Harry - Got to go with real. The chrome and the reflections look to real for a model unless it is scratch built out of brass and then real chrome plated.
Nick F40 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Hmmm..............nice one Harry! That looks like a '55 Mercedes race car transporter...........Something about the inside windshield posts say real to me.......... But I could be wrong-------that's a tough one! Now this is cool, I like this. I was thinking the same thing Bill. I say real.
scummy Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 G,day , i go model as i see no bulbs in headlights and no tyre marks on pavers it's parked on , also area where tread is - is too clean ?
mazlak Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Harry, I'm going model on this one. Rick in Richmond
Jantrix Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Oh Harry, you and I had a long discussion a while back on SA about this vehicle. You finally made an easy one for me, thanks.
