Capt. Speirs Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 As the title suggests, looking for feedback. Product Link
lucky 130 Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Had not seen this before, the guy talking about doing his Chevelle dash, is enough to get me to try. Thanks Ric
Oldcarfan27 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Sounds like it might be exactly the same a Molotow pen. Even the same price.

Hopefully something a little more durable ( not that the Molotow is weak , it's just not a handle-or-touch-it-a-bunch-of-times finish ) . I ordered one just for giggles ; I'll test it upon its arrival .
Snake45 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 I've pretty much replaced my Molotow pen with this. It looks at least 90-95% as good as Molotow, dries much faster (one hour), and is more durable. AND it costs a third as much. I've bought mine at Walmart. They haven't had them for a few weeks but I bought at least 3 when they had them, and next time they're in, I'll buy a couple more. Not only have I done window trim with it, I've done large chrome body trim, bumper touchup, and wheel touchup. Good stuff! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marvy-Uchida-DecoColor-Premium-Metallic-Paint-Marker-Chisel-Tip-Silver-551740234/43472202
ChrisBcritter Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 And with the DecoColor one Snake mentioned, DON'T forget to shake the pen to mix the ink before you use it the first time - I made that goof and it never worked right after that; got clear carrier from the tip and the silver pigment wouldn't draw through enough to cover anything.
peteski Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 This advce applies to pretty much any paint pen, especially ones with metallic paints.
JohnD Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 I ordered one of those a couple years ago and they sent me a Testors silver paint marker. It didn't even have their label on it.

What part of the store do you find it in? Crafts?
Snake45 Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Yes, Crafts, hanging on the wall with all the other markers and paint pens. 1
Jon Haigwood Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Can it be used in an air brush and can it be cleared without it looking dull ?
Snake45 Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Dunno, haven't tried either thing. I've been quite happy with the results using it exactly as advertised. I learned my lesson about 30 years ago about trying to shoot clearcoat over any kind of silver/chrome paint. I won't be trying it again.

Beans Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Saw this one today in the local hobby lobby. Looks like Rustoleum is getting into the game as well.
