Just agreed to purchase this kit and need to drive 40 minutes to get it.

Is it any good? Never had one of these MPC Mustangs. Good part is it was only $10

That’s a great deal for $10.  Although it’s not stock, I used it as a base for a 76 Cobra II build with aftermarket resin parts and decals.  The IMSA style fenders remind me of the Monroe Handler.

That's one of the tougher issues of the MPC Mustang II to find.  If you haven't got a specific idea for a build in mind, I'd build it as-is.  The decals may be beyond saving however, MPC decals from that era tend to dry out and break apart.

Oh yeah. That particular kit is very hard to find but hey...$10 is a steal. I did that kit in my early teen years. I would scan the decals and make new ones. Unless yours are sealed in its own baggie.

This kit has a way better chassis than the AMT kits do. I used this chassis and interior under an AMT body with the opening rear hatch to build this.

Seventies MPC decals are often junk, they dry out and fall apart on the sheet.  And that's not getting into things like muddy brown colors substituted for gold or gold leaf, and cutting corners like using the same lettering for both sides of a drag car when the letters lean forward on both sides.

Thank you, built if for the Cannonball build a few years ago. It's based on an extensively modified real car. The wheelbase is stretched about 18 inches and has 2008 Mustang wheel arches.

Well I drove my hour and a half to pick it up and was glad I did. 100% complete and unbuilt. A few things painted with some pactra brush paints (paint included) I am thinking of trying to find a caster to do the wide body parts since they do fit the AMT body also. Probably going to do it box stock with some detailing.

You could also use them on the MPC pro street Mustang, since those are easier to find and the stock parts are gone already.

Correct, and I bet it will be released again before long. Know any good casters that could do the flair pieces?
