cobraman Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Just finished this one . Has a metal frame and main body . Front clip and most other parts plastic. Instructions were not so good , Hardly any text and most just dark black and white photos. Body was painted with Tamiya Met. Orange and Tamiya Pearl Blue . Windows were riveted onto the doors so I had to drill them out to paint the doors . 1
cobraman Posted August 19, 2021 Author Posted August 19, 2021 Thank you Bob. Still not sure about these two colors together.
Scott Colmer Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 That's the first I've ever seen of an ACME Willys. I've heard the ACME instructions are pretty minimal. The response was that they wanted the modeler to put his own spin on it. Yours looks great! Very clean and has the "look." Nice work.
cobraman Posted August 20, 2021 Author Posted August 20, 2021 Thank you Scott. Last year I bought the Fiat kit and those photos were worse !
papajohn97 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Nice job Ray on painting and assembling this “diecast kit”, a genre I didn’t know about until I read your post. I like the understated two-tone color scheme and leaving decals off, gives it a sinister intimidating outlaw racer look. Did this Acme kit include those fuel lines and fittings details? (very nice). Would love to see a pic of the left side of the engine and the underside of the chassis. Thanks for sharing!
cobraman Posted August 21, 2021 Author Posted August 21, 2021 Thanks John. Yes lines were all included. Will try to remember to grab more pics.
TransAmMike Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 That one looks great Ray, and I like color combo?
