cobraman Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Starting this kit next . As been reported here before the newer version of this kit does NOT include any chrome parts even tho it shows chrome on the box . Not a problem for me because I want to try and build it as a car that a teen or young guy may have built years ago . So I would have removed most of the chrome anyway . I have no idea where I will put this one done ! 1
vtecfour Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I've got this kit coming my way. Are the provided tires different from the box picture? The two Goodyears look completely different. Thanks. Dan
cobraman Posted August 25, 2021 Author Posted August 25, 2021 They are the same as on the box. They are two piece but not split in the center. The Goodyear ones I bought on ebay thinking I may use them but I think I will stick with the white walls.
FLHCAHZ Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I’ll be watching this. I’ve had this kit for so long, I forgot I had it.
Sam I Am Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Ray, I know you saw mine, and it does look good with minimal or no chrome. Just remember to go to Walmart and get your $15 display case. ? I will be watching your take on this one. 3

Zippi Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Good looking project coming up with the Ford T bucket. What year is this kit suppose to be? What color is on your mind?

I suspect mine will be very much like yours but I plan on painting it with Tamiya Metallic Orange.

What color is on your mind? Not sure about year. As for color I am leaning heavily towards Tamiya Metallic Orange. Same color I just painted the Cobra I just finished.
Zippi Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 That will be pretty kewl. That Metallic Orange looks good on the Cobra.

What color is on your mind? It is a 1915, and is a copy of a car that was on the show circuit and in magazines at the time. The original issue of the kit had gold plated trees and not chrome to try and replicate the brass work on the actual car. Ray, that orange will be perfect for this. Edited August 26, 2021 by Sam I Am
slusher Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 Ray the color you used on your Cobra would look ? fantastic on this model..
Oldmopars Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 Very cool, I'm also working on the same kit. It has a ton of potential. I have 3 of these. 1 finished, the one pictured, and a new one 2
cobraman Posted August 29, 2021 Author Posted August 29, 2021 I bought those same slicks but they don't work well with the kit wheels. I have also been searching for the pic up bed but no luck so far.

cobraman Posted August 29, 2021 Author Posted August 29, 2021 I decided I will just use the whites all around.
Sam I Am Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Love that color, and still amazed at how well detailed and accurate that 312 is. You sure are making it "pop"

cobraman Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 Got some more done on this kit . Weird to work on something this large after doing the 1/25 scale models . It about maxes out the room on my roll top desk . Body just sitting on the frame for now . 2
Oldmopars Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Looking good. I am also working on mine at the moment. I like where yours is going.
