magicmustang Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) What if Butch Leal had stayed with Ford in '65 and ran a Fairlane 500. Had an AMT '65 Fairlane Mod Stocker kit, which came with most of the stock parts. Traded for another body, second seat and second hood scoop (thanks to RichCostello). Had the Cady decals. So I thought I would try a conversion. Cut up the spare body to fill in the Modified fender wheel openings (whoa, that was a chore). Wheels, door handles and carbs are from the Revell '64 Thunderbolt kit. Tires and headlights are from the parts box. Tail lights are photo repo. Paint was Testors rattle can Mystic Maroon lacquer. Forgive the chrome, my Molotow pen was acting up. Not great, but I'm glad to have it done. Edited November 3, 2021 by magicmustang
Zippi Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Nice looking Ford. Good looking color and the decals look great.
Snake45 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Great "what-if" idea and you pulled it off quite nicely! Well done and model on!
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Nice indeed. I really enjoy seeing well thought out "what ifs" that are entirely plausible from a technical and historical perspective.
echo Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Sounds like a lot of work. The model turned out great.
Olskoolrodder Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Awesome What If, would have been a sweet ride!
Chuckyg1 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Great idea, well thought out & and the finished product turned out wonderful.
