Mopar - D Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 Looking awesome Jeff the paint really brings out your details that you have done.

gotnitro? Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Tiny update on the plow ..I really wanted warning stripes on the tailgate. While I waited for more paint to arrive, I masked off the tailgate after spraying it yellow. I used some vinyl pinstripe tape , huge mistake !!! Theres a reason why tamiya is used for bleed free paint work..this stuff leaked worse than my cellar...oh well its a work truck lol Now I won't have to cover the tailgate w a construction sign ! Once my paint order arrives , I'll get this done Thanks for for along
Mopar - D Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Looks good Jeff and I think it’s going to help you with your weathering.
Rockford Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Some incredible fabrication on this build. Can't believe how you get everything so square and clean looking. Just great.
kuhnj Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Nice work! Truck's really coming together, excited to see the final result.

Very nicely done on the fabrication for the build. Nothing cooler than an Upstate NY Municipality Dump/Plow. I saw a good number of them as a teenager as my Grandparents lived in Eldred, NY (Orange County). There was a local municipality garage near them. You should be proud. gotnitro? Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 Thanks Jerry ! I enjoy making parts from photos, and trying to keep each build unique. Ryan Pedone sent me the photos of this truck, a friend owns one . The local trucks really have more personality from the mods the crews made over the yrs in service , and that's what I love to capture to honor their work
gotnitro? Posted February 5, 2022 Author Posted February 5, 2022 Whew I really slacked off on this build ! Guess the squirrels are contagious this year lol I hated the telephone pole mirror mounts, so I replaced them w 030 rod. I'll polish some thumb tacks for spotter mirrors too. Another detail I was sorting out was the cold weather air cleaner plumbing. They have a flex pipe coming off engine going to air cleaner..I found some 12g wire perfect for the purpose. Ill wrap it w tamiya tape later. The squirrels must've messed w my clock, cause the next detail burned a few hrs. I planned to add tire chains early on, and finally got around to them. These still need some adjustments, but look good. Now to feed the furry rats and make the rest 1
Mopar - D Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Nice progress Jeff. I like those tire chains.

My first try were too far apart, the next short mockup of 6 bars were too close ..finally they landed on baby bear Edited February 6, 2022 by gotnitro?
Rockford Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Absolutely brilliant scratchbuilding going on. Paint looks great too.
tbill Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Looks great Jeff, with any luck, the squirrels got stuck in the snow for awhile……

gotnitro? Posted February 13, 2022 Author Posted February 13, 2022 Today I painted the entire set of chains and hung them. Giving them a rub of gunmetal powder after tamiya primer gave a nice flash rusted sheen to them. I still need to add side boards, plow chains and then weather it up 3
