RDean58 Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 At least I have good front and rear bumpers and a hood for the other one I got recently. This one may turn into a custom because of the dead frame, dead glass, and burn mark on the body. We will see if the old paint comes off or not. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.
jefropas Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Purple power and a sanding stick will have that body looking brand new. Its a rarer car to save, good luck!! Jeff
Zippi Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Boy that green looks a little rough. Put it in the drink (Purple pond) for a while.
espo Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Don't rule out cheep brake fluid for paint removal if all else fails. That stuff would do a number on paint on a real car. Did the builder just spread glue around on the chassis ? At least the Bumpers and Grill look good and the Tail Lights should be removable. You can make new glass when needed.
RDean58 Posted November 12, 2021 Author Posted November 12, 2021 First soak with Easy Off. It came out pretty good so I'm doing it again ? All comments welcomed.
Tuffy's Garage Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Can't wait to see what you do with it
dragcarz Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 My type of build, saving old plastic, great start.
kelson Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 I bought a built up like that years ago, yours looks like it could be saved and built stock if you choose that way. Here's a pic of my rebuild, may redo it as some parts i'm not happy with. 2

paul alflen Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 RDean58, I think the AMT 1969 Ford Galaxie uses that same chassis, if I remember correctly. Mark or Snake can you confirm this?
paul alflen Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Also nice save ! Don't make it a Kustom, unless all the Stock detail is gone on the body! I'll be watching this one, too!
