I’m going to take the reissued KW Challenge Mixer and put it on the Autocar DC-9964B. Looking like it’s going to be a easy switch so far. I will see how it goes as I get building it. I’m still trying to decide on what my colors are going to be. What ever I do choose for this one will determine the colors for the other mixers I have in my stash. Maybe this company will be Super Bee Transit Mixing. More to come.

Nice build Dave thanks for sharing your pictures. I don’t remember seeing this one at the shows that I have been to.

I did mine years ago, used the Autocar A64B and the older nose conversion from AITM: https://pbase.com/baywing/image/164880926

Thanks Warren for sharing your build I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one to use the Autocar with the transit mixer

Started working on the frame and checking on weather I need to change the frame length. Looking like I’m going to be able to use the frame with out having to cut it.

great start Dan

Thanks Ken.

I believe that I have the frame ready for some sublime green paint. I’ve used a white primer for going under the sublime green. Added the hydraulic pump on the front of the truck.

Great match up!  Your giving Round 2 ideas for a future release!

Thanks Tommy, Round 2 should do it the mixer fits on the Autocar with very minor modifications. I’m sure they could also use the dump body on the KW to. I already have different plans for mine.

Love the green Dan.. What paint did you use?  Your build is looking awesome..

Thanks Carl I used Scale Finishes sublime green and Krylon white primer. I’m going to clear coat with Scale Finishes 500 clear.

Lots of great AC/DR builds going on right about now. Must be something in the water....or we were all listening to AC/DC.....?

Thanks Sam I think it’s a little bit of both. lol

I’ve been able to spend a little time on this build adding some details on the frame and painted the Super Bee Bumble Bee strip on the drum. Next will be to clear coat the truck.

I’m just about finished with the mixer section and I built the engine for it. The kit does not provide any brackets for storing the extra chutes so I scratch built some and I’ve had to modify the platforms a little bit to because the fenders are not in the same location as the kit. Looks like I could of lengthen the frame about 20 scale inches but the rear axle spacing is bigger than the KW.
