Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Here's Revell's 1997 Chevy Corvette Coupe. The instructions were pretty vague on some parts locations, but it's a decent kit overall. On final assembly, the front end wouldn't snug down over the inner fenders without forcing the hood to pop up near the windshield. I took it apart a few times to try to solve the issue to no avail. Despite this issue, the stance is still pretty good, and for the most part, I can live with the look. The color is a custom mixed attempt at the rare Fairway Green Metallic factory color using metallic craft paints sprayed through my airbrush, and cleared with Pledge Floor Gloss. The interior is a mix of Stynylrez Black Primer, and Anita's Gloss Black craft paint. Overall this was a pretty fun build, and represents the newest vehicle I have built so far. As always, thanks for looking! 3
AMT68 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Gorgeous shade of green on a very clean build. Though I haven't done any exteriors to this point I'm becoming fond of the acrylics similar to what you typically use.
bisc63 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 +1 on your color mix; beautiful and unexpected color! Engine bay is quite realistic. Your hood fit is not objectionable at all, the model looks really nice. Well done.
ea0863 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I really like the color and detail, but I LOVE the diorama!
happy grumpy Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Great looking vette especially in this shade of green. Beautiful photos and setting.
espo Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Great looking paint and I like the unusual color. Nice engine paint detailing.
slusher Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Beautiful clean build! How do you do the black trim around the inside of the windows Craig??

These were fairly easy. I just masked off around the edges, there's a ridge that can be used as a guide for cutting the tape. It also had a frosted texture that I painted with flat black craft paint. When turned right-side up, it becomes glossy under the clear top of the glass. Hopefully that makes sense. 1
