That’s a terrific looking ride Claude! I especially noted how you used the Lincoln engine, it really makes this rod stand out. The Monogram Lincoln kit offers a very basic rendition of the V12, even the exhaust manifolds are molded into the two engine block halves. Yet it does have potential as evidenced by your build. The cross over of the exhaust onto the starboard side stack is the hilight! I’m currently hot rodding the same engine with a scratchbuilt manifold mounting three Strombergs to go into either the 40 Lincoln or 53 Ford, it being the last year of production for the V8 Flathead.

Always enjoy seeing your builds, cheers Misha

Nice work, it's builds like this that sparks creativity for others. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Lei!

I was looking at this body for a long time, and somehow, it just "happened". Something about not rushing things, I guess?

Awesome looking car , love the motor! Very nicely detailed!

Hi Gary!

Thank you so much. I felt a hoodless car was needed to have full view of this V12. It's not the most detailed engine, but it's a good base to build from.

That just flat works!  I love crazy mash-ups, they can be so much more rewarding as the carefully planned yet often frustrating "serious" builds!

Cheers

As always Claude, another cool and masterful job.   Thats some wild looking tires.

Hi Mike!

Thank you. I know those tires are a bit unusual for their thread pattern, but the front/rear sizes are a good fit on many builds. I have numerous Dodge Sidewinder kits, but I always ride them for parts: engine, suspensions, interior, rolling stock, etc. Not one completed yet. Just organ donors...

Great Rod! You gathered some very nice parts for this Deuce, Claude! I especially like the scratch built items like the front tank and the rear bumper with the integrated taillight bar!

Thanks Oliver!

The front tank is a section of a chrome tube that was inside a ball pen, with .10 Plastruct end caps made with a punch. The rear bumber/stop lamp is actually a side-pipe of unknown origin found in a bag of parts a friend sold me. Never let anything go to waste, they say...

Great build Claude, you have proven time and time again that the theory that nothing is lost everything is created (I may have already used this one...) !!!

You start to empty my vocabulary but not my admiration, I hope your wife thinks so too... ?

The choice of components also proves your motto "Fun with styrene", that's what I call delivering the goods... ?

Is Kings Custom Body a fictitious name?  In my opinion, this is a brand that fits you like a glove, my friend.

By the way, I see that the green air valves are back...

Bravo encore !

Hi Francis!

Thansk for the comments. I have a seemingly endless supply of "leftovers". I'll need to talk to my doctor about it, eh? And you are right: this one did not escape the green valve stems!

On the decal side, this one was a lucky find inside the 2016 reissue of AMT's 29 Ford roadster that I bought recently. The decal sheet was of very good quality, and contains many options for "vintage style" lettering.

Can't wait to see your D-100 PU "in the flesh" this fall at the Quebec model show.

Keep on!

That’s one heck of a nice for a bunch of leftovers. You made it look like they all belong together. Stance and proportions are right-on and I really like the color.

Hi Dennis!

Thanks for the comments. Craftsmart calls this color "Suede", but to me, it's more like "Mushroom". Hence the name I gave the car...

Hi Misha!

Thanks for the comments.

You are right about the V12: fairly basic, but lot of potential. And the exhaust crossover dictated that I find a solution that would be out of the ordinary. Hence, the "stack" style, made of an unknown "bargains bin" side pipe that I shortened to fit.

The joys of scratchbuilding! Good luck with your V12. I look forward to see it on this forum!

Another beautiful build Claude. Nice color and great photography. I find your builds really inspiring.

Hi Mario!

Thanks for the comments. My photo skills still need much improvement. I'm working on it...

That looks great Claude! I don't do many hot rod models, mostly factory stock, but I enjoy seeing other people's work and this one is especially nice as it's one of a kind.

By the way, I've responded to your question about my 61 Plymouth paint.
