69NovaYenko Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Looking for some more of this material but it appears I can no longer find a good link for them. Or at worse case when I can source this material from possibly one of the arts & crafts shops. Thanks in advance your assistance.
peteski Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) The weave of 1/16" ribbon does not look very realistic for seat belts. This question came up here in the past (I'm sure more than ones). Last time someone recommend searching for 2mm and 4mm silk ribbon on amazon. I bought about half a dozen of the 2mm ribbons (different colors) and they are far superior in appearance to craft ribbon. it is also not as stiff (softer) as craft ribbon. Highly recommended. Edit: found the post about silk ribbon. Edited April 6, 2022 by peteski 1
NOBLNG Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 These are what I have used. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/gofer-racing-20003-photo-etch-seatbelt-kit--1372644
Theo Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I usually just use masking tape cut to desired width. Sharpie to desired color.
Straightliner59 Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I use the foil from wine bottles. There's really no need for texture, beyond matte paint. Just look at the belts on the opposite side of your car. You can't really see any texture. Just my $.02.

peteski Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Well, some people like steak, others prefer meatloaf. Whatever works. I just presented an alternative. I have probably 10 different colors of standard 1/16" I bought at a craft store over 10 years ago. I have used it on some models, but once I discovered the silk ribbon, I will not use the regular ribbon again. Again, my preference. 1
