stavanzer Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Well , you can always scrounge up the original Revell '32 Roadster, and use that body on the new kit chassis. A swap, no doubt many will do, anyways. I'll be putting the chassis under the '32 Sedan from a few years ago,
mrm Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Well, one can dream and expect them to issue a Vicky Deuce too, based on the Speedwagon woody. Throw in a new engine option (like a ‘58 Vette), new set of wheels and a Vicky body, using the Speedwagon’s interior with just new floor/rear seat. Or a phaeton based on the sedan kit. 1

stavanzer Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 I am now waiting for this kit to appear. I hope it is soon. 1

Mr. Metallic Posted September 6, 2022 Author Posted September 6, 2022 Any updates on this one? I'm hoping Q4
Luc Janssens Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 It's on the new releases page now....so soon it will be here I'm guessing. Revell Model Building | Online Shop | 1932 Ford Rat Roadster 1

Awesome! Thanks for the update! Also - looks like they used Alclad for the chrome bits on their box-art model. I assume the chromed sprues weren't available when they were building that one...
slusher Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I am looking forward to getting one. Going preorder one…
Calb56 Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Okay, it's staying with modern engines, I understand. What I don't understand is with all the recent kits, why Revell has stopped producing them, leaving it for the secondary markets? Also have the 32 3-window, 5-window, sedan. The 31 Ford, 57 Fords, 48 Ford, 49 Mercury, 57 "Black Widow" 150, 50 Olds... Not asking for anything new, just make some of your newer kits available again. 1
slusher Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 So is Revell going to produce this or not?
tim boyd Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Apparently they are or already have been distributing kits to the media, so yes, the kit is coming and soon. TB

TB Just saw it available at a hobby shop, a two hour drive from me. Think it will be available at my local hobby shop later this week, don't wanna waiste expensive gas.

I don't think the 32 5w has left the catalog since it was introduced 10+ years ago. I agree with you on some of the rest, although they did versions of the 48 Ford tooling after the chopped version, with the Greased Lightning version done most recently. Apparently extensive investigation was done by the previous owners of Revell (Hobbico) into releasing a Ranchero based on the 57 Ford tool but decided it was tool expensive. Maybe Blitz will give it a shot? Out of all those the 32 Sedan is the one in most ""dire" need of a rerelease. That was a limited release the only time it came out (I think 2007, oh how time flies) and really should be ready to just run some plastic through the mold. That kit was just about perfect as is, but if they wanted to throw a little money at it even better. 1

hustinettenbaer Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) Bought the 32 Rat Roadster two days ago in my local hobby shop (Vienna, Austria). Still had no time to check it out, maybe later. They also got the 32 5W Coupe, Model A Roadster and Coupe again - its time to stock up the Hot Rod warehouse at home... M. Edit: made some pics, found two windshields (Duvall and the chopped one), cycle fenders, new seatbench and the old Roaster seats. Edited September 14, 2022 by hustinettenbaer 4 1

Edit: made some pics, found two windshields (Duvall and the chopped one), cycle fenders, new seatbench and the old Roaster seats. I was confused that you said you bought a Rat Roaster, but thought maybe you actually found a RR in an Austrian hobby shop. You mean that you got one of the new 32 Roadster kits, which are not Rat Roasters (but maybe I'm being pedantic) Thank you for sharing the pics. It's a little bonus that they actually still included the chopped windshield even though you can't use it without some surgery to the body. I'm certainly glad to have it. It sure does look like they might be having the same issue with warpage that they are with the 29 roadster and 30 coupe kits. It appears this tree was warped enough to actually break these parts away from the tree. The rest of the parts look straight though( especially crucially the duvall windshield) it's just something for the rest of us to keep our eye on as these hit the shelves. Chuck Kourouklis Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Yup, looks a good deal more successful a model than the Rat Roaster, being less beholden to a specific subject and therefore landing less wide of the mark.
OldNYJim Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Awesome! Thank you for posting those pics @hustinettenbaer!
