espo Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Been enjoying watching your fabrication work here. The Boom looks great.
Nosferatu Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 I put in a few more hours on this. I scratch built the rails and they just need to be chromed. I also painted the boom and added the chain and hook. Thanks for looking Dave
Bugatti Fan Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Really nice project. Vintage commercials have an appeal all of the own! Following with interest.

misterNNL Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 I really like those bed hand rails. Did you the styrene tube with wire inside for those?

Thanks The handrails are solid styrene rods and the mounts are tubing that I sanded down. I drilled holes in the bed edge and slid the rod inside.

I build 1930's and '40's travel trailer models in 1/25 and some have roof racks for luggage storage. That will work very well for replicating those.
Paul Payne Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Your great project has inspired me to gather parts and materials for a similar build using a 37 Ford pickup and military tires- this may end up as part of my Blue Ox Salvage collection.
Butter 1 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 All the curves work well together, the running boards, bed sides, fenders and the shape of the boom.
