StevenGuthmiller Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Hi guys. Looking for some good interior shots from a '59 Desoto Fireflite convertible for an upcoming project. I will have to pretty much build an interior from scratch, but I'm not having a lot of luck finding any interior seat/door panel upholstery pics. Please post them if you have 'em. Thanks! Steve

espo Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Try a Google Image search using the year and vehicle manufacture and ask for pictures.
peteski Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 From my past experience, and from what he told me, Steve does not click on any links included in posts. If it is not in the post, he won't read it.

What you're referring to is a statement that I've made that I won't waste time clicking on links of someones finished models or progress pictures within their threads. If they're not going to take the time to post photos, I'm not taking the time to go searching for them. Steve

I've seen a good portion of those photos, but there are a few scattered amongst them that are applicable. A lot of Adventurer and Firedome photos, as well as a lot of hard top pics. Not sure how much variation there is between the hard tops and convertibles, but there can often be a considerable difference. Even the photos marked as Fireflite's have some considerable differences. Apparently, these are both Fireflite convertibles, but even the door panels are completely different. Just trying to figure out where to land. Steve Edited May 25, 2022 by StevenGuthmiller

The very detailed pics will come in very handy......if this proves to be correct for a Fireflite convertible. I'm having difficulties with that question at the moment, but I'm sure that I'll find some resolution. Steve 1

You could join one of them just in order to ask that question from the members if need be?
Oldcarfan27 Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 As a general rule, I've found that convertibles didn't include cloth interiors. Water leaks cause stains ya' know. So I usually don't do cloth upholstery patterns on those builds, unless I've found original documented proof that it was available.

That’s my general feeling as well. But, I’m reserving judgement until I know for sure. The red interior pictured above is a convertible, but that doesn’t mean that it’s correct. This is my problem. I don’t know what’s correct. Steve

I remember the exchange we have about this quite well. I posted a link in the "freeze plug" thread which you paid no attention to. Below is your replay about links in general (nothing specific about links to photos). Please read that post and few subsequent posts to see proof that you don't pay much attention to links in posts. I may not have been entirely clear in that post, but all that I meant by that statement is that as I scroll through any given thread, I will personally rarely open links contained therein. If I am asking a direct question of members myself, in my own thread, I absolutely will open them. After all I asked for the information. Anywhere else, I’m not necessarily interested in fishing through the possible dead ends and misdirections that can come with links, unless it’s something that expressly interests me. Sorry if I was unclear with that declaration. Steve 1
