Ace-Garageguy Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Price-first-shoppers aren't usually concerned much with quality.
1972coronet Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) "Quality" seems to have had its definition usurped over the decades, as mediocre somehow passes as "quality" by today's "standards" Edited March 3, 2023 by 1972coronet 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) Standards of quality tend to suffer in an "everybody gets a trophy for just showing up", wholly non-competitive environment where you can't undermine a precious snowflake's self-esteem by telling him to up his game, because his output is 3rd rate trash. misterNNL Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Trouble is finding finger prints on the inside of the windshield after you glue it in place.
NOBLNG Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Place glued parts on painted surfaces carefully to avoid smears.
misterNNL Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Smear some strawberry jam on warm toast for a tasty breakfast
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) "Breakfast of Champions" was the advertising tag line for a well known breakfast cereal, in spite of the well known fact (then and now) that protein, along with carbs, is a much better performance-enhancing breakfast than just sugar-drenched empty carb calories with a little milk, but in some circles of intellectual endeavor, the "breakfast of champions" was 5 cups of coffee and half a pack of cigarettes. JollySipper Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Cigarettes and coffee were a staple of the poetry rooms frequented by the Beatniks....
NOBLNG Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Beatniks would probably know how to play this game correctly. 1
BeakDoc Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) Correctly playing a Beatnik game sounds like quite the juxtaposition. (Apropos of nothing; and certainly not part of the game; at the top of the page “Breakfast of Champions” had me thinking of Kurt Vonnegut and at the bottom of the page we’re talking about Beatniks. I love symmetry.) Edited March 3, 2023 by BeakDoc 1 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) Symmetry is sometimes lacking on model-car aftermarket resin offerings...and aftermarket real-car fiberglass. Edited March 3, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy
misterNNL Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Close is good enough is an unfortunate tend in those markets.
JollySipper Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Fiberglass markets include makers of bass boats, which I've been looking at a lot lately. (See what I did there? )
NOBLNG Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Lately I’ve been having trouble getting motivated.
misterNNL Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Motivated and constipated are similar, can't get started. 1
Claude Thibodeau Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Started a Pacer Pro-Touring last week, and it's coming along fine.
