bluestringer Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Up next for me to mess up............70 Chevelle SS. Going with Tamiya red on this one. 5
1972coronet Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Going with a stock representation or a customised version? Side Note: Boy oh man, do we need a new 1970-1972 Chevelle kit! 1

On the side note, yes we do. 1

NOBLNG Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Looking good James.? Are those Keystone Classics, and are they from this kit?

They are the stock wheels for the Chevelle that came in the kit. I painted the centers black and the photos are too dark so the detail is lost. This is what they should look like. 1

I was painting the trim with a Molotow pen and somehow smeared some on the body. I tried lightly getting it off with alcohol on a swab, but it smeared the paint. I didn't want to take the time to strip it and repaint so I just sanded it off and sprayed some more red over it. It doesn't look too bad and you have to look close to notice anything, so I'm going with it. The glass really gave me fit also. It's a one piece for the front and back and did not fit well at all. I cut it in half and got the back to fit good, but the front windshield still doesn't fit right. Trying to correct it so I can finish this up, I'm ready to get started on that 57 Chevy Pro Street I'm working on.

I burnish the tape edge so it don’t run under..
bluestringer Posted December 11, 2022 Author Posted December 11, 2022 More problems. Back in the box for right now, I'll try to get back on it later.

Hey James, sorry for the problem. Always seem to have multiple issues with my builds recently. Oh well, ain't gettin' any younger.?
bluestringer Posted December 11, 2022 Author Posted December 11, 2022 I know what you mean Mike. This was a ill fitting kit to begin with, add in my aging eyes and shaky hands just adds to the problem. I'll finish it sooner or later, may not be as good as it could be though.

drodg Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 That remark at the top about here is another one for me to mess up actually goes through my mind on most if not all builds. You are doing a great job btw
Slotto Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Looking good so far. Nice job on the engine and body
bluestringer Posted December 24, 2022 Author Posted December 24, 2022 Thanks all. I finally finished it. Didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, but at least I did finish it. Photos under glass.
