Great job! It is nice when you can build a model that you have a personal connection with. The car looks good in black with the red lines!

Looks great, Mike! Nice engine and interior work and a nice finish in black!  I've recently purchased the kit but don't think I can do it justice the way that you have! ??

Thanks Larry.  I've built several cars from past ownership and they usually are the most rewarding builds.

Thanks a lot John, and come on, I know you will do a great job when you do yours.  Have a good day?

That is a beauty Mike. Great job. My first car was a 66 also but it was the Impala SS with the 325hp 396 and Muncie 4 speed. Had a lot of fun with that car, cruising the back roads of South Georgia and I would take it to the local drag strip for Saturday night grudge matches.

Super sharp Chevelle! This car is ‘all business’. I’m still trying to wrap my head around a nineteen year old going into a Chevrolet dealership and buying that car. Impressive!

Mike, great looking model, nice paint job. Do you still have the 1:1 of it? I lived in Metarie in 64-66, and went to LaPlace a couple of times with my dad. There was a guy that lived across the street from us that used to race there. If I remember, he blew the motor and his car ended up sitting in his garage a while. I don't remember what it was. I remember he had a couple of Weimaraner's we watched for him occasionally. Excellent build.

Thanks Perry. No, don't still have the car. I don't remember if I sold it or traded it in for the Ram Air Cutlass I special ordered.

Very interesting you lived in Metairie. After getting married, moved to Metairie.

Wow, great build! As a former 1:1 66 chevelle owner myself I’ve got plans to build a replica of mine, ironically, I’ve built 4 of these so far but none were ‘my’ car, haha.

love everything about your build, fantastic job!

Beautiful build brother. Black is always tricky and you truly crushed it. Very well done.

Thanks Bob!

Thanks Tom.  Ya need to get going on a replica of your former car.

Nice replica. Great color combo with the redlines. I had the privilege of beating on a couple of SS 396 Chevelles in high school. (one a 69 and one a built up 70) both 4-speeds. Fast cars.
