Zippi Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 I've been looking at colors. I'm liking these two. 1
espo Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 I like the body work on the grey truck. Don't know if that is the direction you're going, but it does look good. Built one a while ago to haul a matching Midget race car and used the Tamiya TS-42 Light Gun Metal and it looks close to this photo. This kit has a lot a great chrome trim for the hood and grill. The grill can be easily set in deeper by grinding down the back side and I think looks better that way.

Zippi Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 I think I have the chassis all glued up and ready for paint whenever it stops raining here. I got the lower portion of the front fenders to mate up pretty good so I won't be filling in the gap. I want to retain the stock look. Just now realized the bed has a twist. 1
Dennis Lacy Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I think the stance looks right-on. Good tire tuck and perfect rake. Those Boyd wheels look really good with the truck, too. I love these F1 trucks. Grew up riding around in my Dad’s all original ‘50.

I got the rake about where I wanted it and those wheels & tires from the Monogram '37 Ford Sedan kit worked out nicely.
Zippi Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 I got my garage heater fired up this morning and shot the body with the Tamiya X-4 acrylic blue. I think it came out pretty close to the 1:1 pickup I found online. I'll let this cure out then hit it with the Tamiya X-22 Clear. 6
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Looks great. That blue suits the truck well.

Zippi Posted January 9, 2023 Author Posted January 9, 2023 I got the body wet sanded and the Tamiya X22 clear on this morning. I think it came out Super nice. I'll let it cure out for a few days then I'll wet sand and give it a good polishing. 3
