Horrorshow Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Does anyone have any information about this kit? Is it good? Are there issues with it? Thanks
GMP440 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I think it's a good nascar kit. It only builds as a nascar kit. However, in the box you will find a set of chrome slotted rally wheels and tail lights. Decals, let you build a Grone's sponsored Cyclone or a Wendell Scott #34 car. I'm doing the Scott car. Almost done with it.

Pretty much the same as the Grone's Cyclone. However, the gold number 21 decals are a solid gold and not the reflective gold. The Salvino's Allison 1971 Dodge Charger Nascar kit has the correct reflective gold 1 and 2 numbers , but are the wrong font. I beleive one of the decal makes a correct Allison Cyclone decal set with the reflective gold numbers. Something to check into if you are looking for accuracy.

Motor City Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Maybe a retooled stock 1970-71 Cyclone will be one of Round2's surprises for 2023, followed by a 1968-69 Torino hardtop/convertible and '68 Indy Pace Car. Then in 2024 they can tool up a 1969 Cyclone GT and Cyclone Spoiler Dan Gurney/Cale Yarborough Special or a Cyclone Spoiler II. 1
64Comet404 Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 One of the issues (I think it was the Model King) had the chassis from the MPC Southern Stocker series of kits, which had been shortened to the 110" wheelbase. The Wood Brothers kit was repaired to the correct wheelbase, IIRC.
jjsipes Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Look for set of these. Mike is sold out of them maybe someone has a set available. #21 Purolator David Pearson AJ Foyt 1971-73 Cyclone Powerslide - Powerslide - Powerslide Decals - (mikesdecals.com) Or maybe these #21 Wood Bros 1967-70 Mercury Powerslide #363 - Powerslide - Powerslide Decals - (mikesdecals.com)

I think a better way to get a retooled 70-71 Cyclone is for Revell to use the 70 Torino GT/Cobra tool for the chassis and engine. Missing link and Gerry Chevalier have cast their recent resin Cyclone trans kits to use the Revell chassis. 1
oldcarfan Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Is this a stock body on the generic NASCAR chassis? If so I'm thinking of some cool projects I could do.
stavanzer Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Yes, Gary it is a "Mostly" stock looking body. I have the kit, but it is buried right now, I'd tell you more.
