skymnky721
Hi all,,I was watching theĀ thunderbirds TV show,,,circa late 60's or so,,and I was amazed at all the modelĀ set work,,and vehicles ,,cars,,trucks,,landscapes in that show. The characters in the show are all puppets,,which is alot of work in its self,,but the space ships,,cars,,trucksĀ ,,landscapes ARE AMAZING.Ā There was no computer generated graphics in those days,,everything was hand built,,if you have a chance ,,check out that show,,its wild. cobraman
What they build is so detailed. I really like to watch it for that reason.Ā MeTV plays an episode every Sunday morning and I record it so I I don't miss it. Lots of AMT and Johan models used.
cobraman
Not that it matters that much but rather than puppets they are actually marionettes. All are said to be about 18 " tall.

Brian Austin
There is a small studio in the UK (Century 21 Films) that is making films based on the old Thunderbirds series.Ā Some of their work has been on YouTube.Ā During the pandemic lockdown, they put together a new series based around marionettes and props they had handy.Ā It ran for several episodes on YT.Ā In fact it became so popular, after the pandemic wound down, they continued production.Ā It's called "Nebula 75". TonyK
13 hours ago, NOBLNG said: and also Fireball XL-5. The drinking and smoking was a funny addition to the marionettes. If you watch any 60's tv show that was the norm so why shouldn't it apply to this show except it was for kids.Ā š¤
ChrisBcritter
The writers must have had a thing for American cars - Thunderbirds and StingrayĀ - whose main character was named Troy Tempest, and Supercar's protagonist was Mike Mercury. And in one episode, it looks like they threw away the model and used the box instead: Ā
