oldnslow Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 this is from the 60's , but what engine is that ? A Pontiac Hemi ? 1
Mark Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Mackey Thompson briefly cataloged Hemi cylinder heads made to fit Pontiac V8 engines. He also offered them for Ford FE series engines. Not too many pairs were sold, as it was probably cheaper to just build a Chrysler mill as opposed to converting something else with parts available from only one source. 1

Everything today is at least 10 times that...reasonable considering all the years of inflation, but it's not cheap even to build a "nostalgia" rail job. And then of course you have to find someone who knows which end of a hammer to drive screws with. 2 1

ctruss53 Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 The cost of racing is why drifting is becoming so popular. The cost of drifting is finding a rear wheel drive car, a couple sets of cheap used wheels, and some cheap tires to burn up.

Tabbysdaddy Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 I live about 3 miles from the local drag strip. I don't think money is slowing these people down. Is that another rocket launch? No, it's the drag strip again.
