Revell Beatnik Bandit

My original intention for this model was to just build it 'out of box'. As it progressed I decided to use the build experience as a chance to try a few new things that I could perhaps use in the future. For example, I stripped the kit chrome , except for the wheels, and tried Alclad 2 chrome for the first time. I scratch built the gauge in the interior, and for the paint I used white primer with Tamiya clear pearl on top.

These early Revell kits have often been described as 'fiddly' or difficult to build. I'm inclined to agree. It's been a long time since I've built a Revell kit from this era, so I'd forgotten how much fun they could be! The decals in particular really gave me a 'run for my money'! Still, I'm happy with the results and will enjoy having it on my shelf.
