ColonelKrypton Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Very nice. I like the "weathering" - not too much and nicely balanced. cheers, Graham
Zippi Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I'm diggin this build. Looks like something I would have been working on back in the day.
JET. Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Thanks guys! Added a “mooneyes” metal flake steering wheel to my gasser build and an eyeball shift knob lol 4
bisc63 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Very cool. The weathering on the quarter panel reminds me of what happens when guys weld on replacement sheet metal, and just keep the factory EDP coating waaaaaayy too long before any sort of sanding/priming! Love it; love the authenticity.
Dennis Lacy Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Looks killer! Love the weathering and mismatched body panels making it look pieced together.
JET. Posted July 7, 2023 Author Posted July 7, 2023 front suspension installed and painted the underneath 4
customline Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 I especially like the "realness" of the weathered/repaired/neglected finishes. Very insightful in concept and execution. Brilliant! I love that steering wheel, James. It's very '60s.
Nitro330 Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 This is coming along great! Love the old weathered gassers. The steering wheel is super cool and so period correct. This will be awesome when done.
iBorg Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 There's a lot to like here. If this is supposed to be a barn find, maybe cover the blower with a drop cloth.
JET. Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 Finished! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/183112-‘65-chevy-ii/ 6 2
customline Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!?. Absolutely beautiful.
redscampi Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Man I missed the build thread on this until now. What a great looking model of a real world car. I'd drive it!
Mr. Metallic Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I missed this too. Very realistic weathering. Well done. Source for the rear tires?
