Added splash panels at the engine bay and reshaped the back half of the chassis to better suit the RS60 body.  Again the chassis is not accurate for the 1:1 but better than a chassis plate.:)

The chassis may not be the perfect replica as you say but nevertheless it looks awesome. What you have done will make the cockpit opening look very much like the real thing.

Long time ago I got a resin copy of the body and now busy modifying an Aurora Porsche 904 chassis with engine to fit.

Do you have a WIP thread Chris?  I would enjoy seeing your project.

Unfortunately not. I am a lazy photographer. Here is a quick photo of the chassis.

That chassis appears to fit well.  I will keep that in mind when I build my RSK center steer.

I am fortunate to have the Fisher Models RSK center steer.

The rear wheel openings never looked right to my eye.  I am in the process of adjusting them.

Need to bring down the rear stance as well.

Just a thought...I know these cars rode a bit high but personally I would drop it a bit and aim for a "flat" stance. May be a bit less accurate but look more like a race car should.

Wonderful build and fun to follow this w.i.p.

Thanks Pierre.  I still need to tweak the rear stance to get the car to sit level (flat).

These tires have a very tall sidewall which adds to the ride height.  Haven't yet found a more suitable tire.

Thanks to your excellent and informative photos, I'm seeing just exactly what needs to be corrected on this little body shell to achieve the right look. There are several subtle but important flaws as-was. Most helpful.  :D

  • Adjusted the rear stance
  • modified some AMT Firestone tires that I think will work
