moparmike619 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 This was built completely box stock from Revell’s most recent “Ice Patrol” release of the J10 pickup. Paint is 2011 Jeep code PUK “Bronze Star” provided by Scalefinishes. Decals are from the box, and laid down nicely. All chrome parts (except the window trim) were treated to Alclad as there is no chrome tree in this release. Everything is bare white styrene. Engine color is a home-mixed blend of craft acrylics to attempt to represent AMC engine blue. I was pleased with the fitment and how pleasant this went together, but there are definitely some areas lacking detail. Also not a fan of the window louvers being the only choice for a rear window. All in all a fun build that looks good on the display shelf, even if not a completely accurate 1:1. 10
ncbuckeye67 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Very nice! I love your color choice. I too, was not happy with the louvers, and should have used acetate sheet to make my own rear window. I also hated the kit wheels, and used a set from another Revell truck kit (F-150 Ranger stepside). 1
espo Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Great looking paint color and finish. The optional decal trim looks good. Having redone the chrome trim, it now looks more realistic. 1
moparmike619 Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 Thanks guys! This really was a fun kit that I had pretty low expectations for. Everything fell together, and even with the lack of detail under-hood, the JC Whitney looking louvers and the blobular wheels, it was one of my most fun builds to date.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I missed this earlier. Very attractive model, and very clean. 1
stavanzer Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Great Looking build! I have a set of Monogram CJ-7 Wheels for use on my J-10 kit. Good Show!
carrucha Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 Cool truck. Nice to see a build of this kit.
