FLHCAHZ Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Hello All, it’s been over a year since I have had a chance to get too the bench. I wanted to just build something without driving myself crazy over the details. I picked this kit up at the LHS and started building. My skills are rusty! This will be out of the box, although I may try to flock the floor. I’ve never tried it. Why not 1
Street Rod Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Great start to this one! I really like the blue.
FLHCAHZ Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 The pearl white was painted on the top and the clear was applied. Just a quick mock up
FLHCAHZ Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Whiskey barrels assembled and painted 2
NOBLNG Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 I agree, the color combo looks great on it!? 1
espo Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Great looking paint finish and the chassis is well done. 1
FLHCAHZ Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 Thanks for all the kind words. Hopefully another update tomorrow
TarheelRick Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Oh my, that is one sweet sedan delivery. Excellent choice of paints. 1
FLHCAHZ Posted November 5, 2023 Author Posted November 5, 2023 My first attempt at flocking, didn’t come out great. I’ll keep going. You really won’t be able to see it when the body is on anyway Also detailed the grill a bit
slusher Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Your color choices are very sharp! Everything is looking great!
FLHCAHZ Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 (edited) Update time: try as I might, I could not get the back door hinges to work, so I glued it is place. I also didn’t like the look of the hood with the sides, covering the engine. I took a deep breath and scribed along the body line and cut the sides off, so you can see the engine wither the hood on. I’ve always liked this look on a street rod Edited November 8, 2023 by FLHCAHZ 2
ncbuckeye67 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 That color combination is gorgeous! I picked up one of the older issues of this kit, at a recent show. You have definitely inspired me to get to work on it! 1
Zippi Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 It looks nice with the hood modification. Lets that engine breathe a little better. 1
bluestringer Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Looking good Chaz. Great color combo. I like the hood top on with the sides off. 1
FLHCAHZ Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Thanks everyone! I’m down to the little fiddle bits, which test my patience and my eyesight! I mounted the bumpers, headlights and gas cap (I should have pinned the gas cap). This is first non 60’s musclecar I’ve built in a long time. It has been a challenge, especially because I have been away from building so far. I think all I have to do is finish the license plate \ tail light assembly and mount it. thanks again for the kind words and inspiration! More pics tomorrow 1
FLHCAHZ Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 I’ve moved this on to “Under Glass” thanks for following along!
