The German Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Hello everyone, ...after a somewhat longer absence, I would like to present you a model of mine again today. The '78 Chevy El Camino. There are three possible presentation options. With a hard top, with a cover and without either of the other two, just as a pickup. I know the Camino isn't perfect, but who is? Check it out and tell me what you think about it. Constructive criticism is also okay. Thanks for watching... 8
NOBLNG Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 The tailgate doesn’t seem to fit quite right, but other than that, it’s very nice. I really like your diorama too!? 1
Maindrian Pace Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I like the color and the Cragars, '70s all the way. 1
Slotto Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I think I like it better with an open bed. Great color 1
espo Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I'm a personal fan of El Caminos. Nice color combination with the body and the interior. Did the shell and the bed cover come in the kit? The reason I ask is the bed cover looks like it rides a little high. I don't know if you pined the side view mirrors, but from their position it looks like they may have shifted on you when the glue was drying. Like the stance and the wheel and tires selection looks great. Nice job with the imitation wood steering wheel. 1
michelle Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Very nice work I have been thinking about getting the revell 78 el camino to make into a 78 gmc caballero 1
karbuildr Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Nice El Camino, I like the color, well done on a kit that isn't easy to build. 1
The German Posted November 24, 2023 Author Posted November 24, 2023 ...first of all, thank you very much for your numerous answers! Yes, I know there are some flaws in the model, but I already said it in the posting above, the Camino is not perfect... I know about the small errors (tailgate, exterior mirrors, etc.) but in hindsight it's not just to fix it again. Unfortunately, the color was only a second choice; the original plan was silver with a wide wine-red stripe, which is why the interior is also wine-red. A "subtle" accident happened while painting and I had to bathe the body in Dowanol. Then brown metallic came onto the model. Thanks again for the comments...
ewetwo Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I can't find any fault with it. Nice color. Nicely done. 1

Chuckyg1 Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Really nice build. Let the errors serve as inspiration for future projects. That's what I do. 1
