AMT 1963 Corvette lowrider

Not much done other than set the ride height. Had to make some axle locators from sheet styrene, as the kit ones wouldn't allow it to sit low enough. Also realized that my hood hinge isn't really prototypically correct, but I like the way it hinges out better.

Doesn’t look like you’re building it factory stock, so I think you’re off the hook 🤪

Cool project - got an idea in mind for paint?

I was inspired by a rendering I saw online. Was originally thinking white pearl with some silve/blue/green panels. Now having second thoughts. I like the original rendering color as well.

You're doing great with the detailing Shawn. Looking forward to this creation taking some good shape.

No, it's from Pegasus Hobbies, and I modified it. Still on the fence about using it, or ordering a 3D printed one.

Looking forward to more on this one when you get back to it Shawn.

It's still in the works. Haven't had much bench time the past couple weeks, and I did set it aside to do a 24 hour build. But I'll be back at it shortly.

Been away from the bench for a long time. Real life getting in the way, picked up one of my dream motorcycles as a project, blah blah. Anyway, finally took some time to work on the 1963 Vette lowrider. Shaved the emblems, shaved the poorly molded front marker lights, and had to fix the passenger side front wheel opening.

Got some time with my 1963 'Vette lowrider tonight. Adjusted front ride height, smoothed firewall and started on some smooth fender aprons. Also got a different 3D printed hydraulic pump for it.
