fordf-100 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 This is the reissue of the old Monogram kit, this is a very simple kit but I had a lot of fun building it! I used the Californian decals that came with it in an attempt to do a loosely based replica. I only changed a few parts from what came in the kit, the wheels and tires with some white wall stickers I had on the rears, I just thought they looked good! I added some interior parts because that was really plain, basically a seat and steering wheel, the kit engine is just two halves and a couple other parts. I thought it came out pretty decent! Let me know what you guys think! 9
ColonelKrypton Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Very nice. It is a simple kit and I have been tempted; every time I poke around the local hobby store and see one on the shelf in fact. I may just have to grab one for a quick build. cheers, Graham
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 I built this last yer and it was a blast. I had a difficult time though with painting the plastic wheels and tires. Thanks for this post.

I agree, I started to paint the tires but it was too much work so I just went and grabbed some parts box wheels and tires!
Yeah Nah Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Nice nostalgic feel to this Phillip. Excellent job!
TonyK Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 That's a sharp looking dragster. Sometimes those simple kits are a nice break from the usual and you can have fun adding a few touches to make it better as you did.

Rattlecan Dan Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Refreshingly clean and simple. Nice job.
bogger44 Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Thanks for posting this, mine's been calling my name from the stash. Your added pieces really are a nice touch to this simple kit. Well done!
Nitro330 Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Very cool Phillip! I really like these old school kits. Sure, they're simple, but they are fun and make a cool shelf model when done.
OldTrucker Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Cool old rail! Remember, the real thing was just as simple in those days!
