Dave Armstrong Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 I tried to get this as close to the boxart, and the 1:1, as I could. Silver base, mix of Tamiya Light Pearl Blue and Pearl Green paint. Because the decals were not great, mix of original and replacement decals. White stripes are painted, Tamiya White. Tail light done with a Sharpie. Original tires were replaced as the fronts were dried out and somewhat brittle, the rears deformed. Boxstock, no wiring or extra detailing. Engine belt made with tape, painted black. 9
Speedpro Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Haven't seen one of those in quit awhile! Very nice build!
M W Elky Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 It’s great to see that you built this rare and valuable old kit, and it came out great by the way. The colors look spot on. I have to wonder if round 2 will ever reissue this one 1
Mothersworry Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 I've rarely see this one built, well done...I like it.
jlucky Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Nice work! I used to have this kit, but always felt it was just a bit too unusual for me. Your build looks very cool and pretty accurate color-wise. Always nice to see these kits built, rather than just sitting in a box on the shelf. Good on you for going out on a limb.
sflam123 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Great job on a rare, classic kit. You absolutely NAILED the paint color!
ybsluos Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I just picked up a glue bomb one of these from my late friend’s collection. Thanks for the inspiration to rebuild it Dave. I hope mine comes out half as nice as yours..
Steamboat Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Beautiful model. I didn't know that the Charger III body was used as a race car.
Hmann68 Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Very cool! Can’t remember the last time I saw one of these! You did a great job with it ??
Mopar2 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Very cool clean build...Looks just like the box art...nice build
